Wentworth Psychological Services
Comprehensive Adult Psychological Assessment
Psychological assessment at Wentworth Psychological Services is a thorough, individualized process that helps clarify diagnoses and guide next steps in care. We work with adults seeking clarity around mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorder, substance use, and ADHD.
Assessments draw on standardized, evidence-based tools to understand how you think, feel, and function day-to-day. The goal is to provide clear answers to your questions and practical recommendations you can use at home, at work, and in academic or treatment settings.

What we evaluate
Types of Psychological Assessment Offered
Cognitive & Learning Assessments
Cognitive and learning assessments explore how you process information, solve problems, and use language, as well as your academic skills and learning profile. These evaluations may include history, cognitive abilities, achievement, attention and memory, and language.
Who this may help: Adults who have long-standing learning concerns, are considering returning to school, or have questions about why certain tasks feel harder than expected despite their effort.
- Clarify strengths and areas of vulnerability in thinking and learning
- Support requests for academic or workplace accommodations
- Inform strategies for studying, organizing, and managing daily demands
ADHD & Attention Assessments
ADHD and attention-focused assessments examine attention, concentration, executive functioning, and memory, along with how these factors impact daily life. History, attention and memory, behavior, and collateral information are integrated to provide a clear picture.
Who this may help: Adults who have difficulty staying organized, finishing tasks, managing time, or sustaining focus at work, school, or home.
- Clarify whether ADHD or other attention-related conditions are present
- Differentiate ADHD from mood, anxiety, or sleep-related concerns
- Offer concrete recommendations for supports and accommodations
Emotional & Behavioral Assessments
Emotional and behavioral assessments focus on mood, anxiety, OCD-related symptoms, personality, and patterns of behavior. They combine clinical interviews, self-report measures, and symptom checklists to understand how you are coping and functioning.
Who this may help: Adults experiencing persistent sadness, worry, irritability, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, or other changes in how they feel or act.
- Differentiates among mood, anxiety, and OCD-related conditions
- Highlights personality and coping patterns that may affect wellbeing
- Guides treatment planning and recommendations for support
Autism & Neurodevelopmental Assessments
Autism and broader neurodevelopmental assessments consider social communication, sensory experiences, repetitive patterns, and adaptive functioning, alongside cognitive and behavioral information.
Who this may help: Adults who have long wondered about autism or neurodivergence, or who have received mixed messages about their diagnosis over time.
- Clarifies whether autism spectrum features are present
- Highlights sensory, social, and communication strengths and challenges
- Provides recommendations for supports, accommodations, and resources

Our Approach
A Neuro-Affirming Approach to Assessment
At Wentworth Psychological, we believe that every brain is unique. We move beyond a deficit-focused model — instead viewing neurodivergence such as ADHD and Autism as natural variation in human neurobiology. Our goal is to help you understand your unique cognitive profile, validate your lived experience, and provide a roadmap for thriving.
Validation
We honor your self-report and personal history. Masking is exhausting, and we provide a safe space to explore your authentic experience without judgment.
Strength-Based Focus
We identify areas of struggle alongside your genuine strengths, helping you understand the environments and tools where you naturally excel.
Practical Support
Our recommendations are actionable and respect your autonomy — focused on environmental modifications, self-advocacy, and strategies for real daily life.
Empowerment
We aim to replace the “broken” narrative with “different, not less.” Our assessments reduce shame and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
